Napa Valley Wine Train Murder Mystery – February 18th 2012

The Napa Valley Wine Train is pleased to announce a Murder Mystery play centering on the clandestine world of the gumshoe. Come prepared to mix and mingle, dress the part, or just get down to business and solve the murder.

The Detectives’ Club Annual Meeting on the Napa Valley Wine Train

Once a year the world’s greatest detectives gather at the home of Julius Fox in Napa, but this year for the 10th anniversary they are gathering on the Napa Valley Wine Train. They swap stories, brag of their accomplishments and a few, get drunk, engage in affairs, and behave in a most unseemly manner.

Last year, Julius Fox wrote down the best of the members’ stories and had them published. The book, called “The Detectives’ Club,” was an immediate best seller. Under the terms of the contract, any of the eight detectives who are alive at midnight tonight will share in the royalties – $5,000,000. Those who are no longer among the living will receive nothing for their estate. Check out this article written byThe Benicia Herald ‘Murder’ on the Wine Train a fun ride, delectable treat

Cast of Characters: Julius Fox, Honorary President of the Detectives’ Club; Dick Chuckles, Brilliant Detective and International Bon Vivant; Dora Chuckles, Dick’s Wife; Agatha Dimwitty, Great Aunt three-times removed to everybody; Nancy Grew, Famous Girl Detective; Dudley Hardly, One of the Famous Hardly Boys; Shirley Holmes, Great-Granddaughter of Sherlock Holmes; and Marmaduke the Mystic, Mystic from the Far East.

For the first time ever, the Chateau will open its doors for an upstairs/downstairs House Party On January, 28, 2012, we’ll open up the Chateau for our first-ever House Party, where our guests will have the run of the place (and the first glimpse at our newly renovated cellar). Upstairs, downstairs – there will be food and wine around every corner. V Sattui Winery Barrel Tasting Party – January 28

January 28, 2012
One of our most anticipated events of the year. The newly-made wines of the 2011 vintage will be just beginning to mature and will be available for sampling for the first time to determine the vintage’s quality and value. Members and their guests have first crack at purchasing Futures of these wines, some of which will be gone before the next party, and at a specially discounted price for this event only.

GREAT FOODS…and MUSIC, TOO!
Chef Shannon Kelly has designed a specially-matched menu of tasty hors d’oeuvres and small dishes to complement our award-winning wines. Shannon is a longtime favorite at V. Sattui and is accomplished at pairing great foods with our wines. And to add to the festivities, there’ll be a lively jazz ensemble, the Sonoma Jazz Collective, back once again with music to soothe the soul.
